New England College Officiating is a professional basketball officiating service that officiates men's college basketball games in New England. Our team of experienced officials ensures that games are played fairly and that the rules are enforced consistently.

To be a good official, certain qualities are required, including a thorough knowledge of the rules, quick decision-making, and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. Officials must also be physically fit and able to keep up with the pace of the game. Good communication skills are also essential for an official to effectively communicate with coaches, players, and other officials on the court.

At New England College Officiating, our officials are trained and evaluated on these qualities, ensuring that they provide the highest level of professionalism and expertise on and off the court. Their commitment to excellence has made them a trusted partner for colleges and universities in New England who rely on them to provide fair and consistent officiating for their basketball games.

New England College Officiating Camp

July 15, and 16
Game On Sports Center
100 Game On Way
Fitchburg, Massachusetts

New England’s premier College development and tryout camp exclusively designed for the recruitment, and development of prospective officials for the New England College Officiating Staff.  We would like to welcome all prospective College Officials from our High School ranks to consider joining us this year for the 2023 edition of the New England College Officiating Camp. This year’s camp will be conducted on July 15 and 16 at “Game On Sports Center” in Fitchburg, Mass. The Camp is committed to the training, development, exposure and recruitment of all Division III College Officials serving the 8 major Division III Conferences in New England as well as Region XXI JUCO’s. Our Camp is run in conjunction with the prestigious “Summer Championships” featuring the finest teams from the U.S. and Canada.

Over the past 14 years 165 Officials and 58 Provisional Officials have been selected to become members of the New England College Officiating staff. Every Official selected to our staff was selected based on their participation at the New England College Officiating Camp. The training, development and exposure received through the NECO Camp
have proven to be invaluable for each Official in their pursuit for advancement. Every Camper is viewed as a prospective College Official and selections to the New England College Officiating staff can only come from those participants at the NECO Camp. Therefore, as a Camper you are being observed and rated during each game you work

by a staff of over 30, former and current, College Officials.

Our Camps Clinicians and Observers are some of the most respected and successful College officials in the region. The guidance, discussion and video our campers will receive from our respected staff will prove to be most valuable.  Although, the mission of the NECO Camp is the continued development and recruitment of College Officials, we are also committed to the development and advancement of each of our campers to the many High School assignors who will be on hand. Many High School assignors have picked up many of our campers to their staffs as a result of the exposure received at the NECO Camp.

All games are 3 man officiated with observers present on all courts on site. Video content will be provided as well as our spirited classroom discussion. Candid discussion on the College experience as well as open discussion on matters
of concern to each Camper will be discussed by our respected College staff and myself. Each Camper will receive a New England College Officiating dry fit shirt, and be provided with water, fruit and snack. The cost is a minimal $260 to each Camper (need based and scholarship considerations are considered). We believe this will be one of the finest
camps to work, while making this an affordable option. So, please consider joining us this year on July 15 and 16.  If you would like to attend the camp please complete the application on our Camp Application Page.
